Dezan Shira & Associates Attended Italian President’s visit in Hanoi

On November 5 2015, Dustin Daugherty (Associate, ASEAN Business Intelligence) and Erasmo Indolino (International Business Advisory for the Hanoi office and the Italian Desk) attended an event hosted by Casa Italia in Hanoi, that brought together top Italian political leaders and local businesses with strong ties to the Italian community. Casa Italia is a project by the Italian embassy and functions as a center for the dissemination of culture, language and to bring the “Italian way of life” to the community in Vietnam.

As part of their visit to Vietnam, the Italian President Sergio Mattarella attended the event hosted at Casa Italia. This was an opportunity for Dezan Shira’s staff to meet the distinguished guests, and strengthen efforts to forge close links to the Italian business community in Vietnam.

“The state visit of the President of Italian Republic Mattarella in Vietnam, following the last year’s visit by the Head of the Italian Government, confirms the growing interest of Italy in Vietnam”, Indolino believes, arguing that “Mattarella’s trip was the first time ever a President of the Italian Republic visited Vietnam and President Mattarella chose Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City for his first visits outside of Europe.” Indolino is confident to say that “the visit, along with the excellent work that the representatives of the Italian institutions in Vietnam already engage in will help investors to bring more ‘Made in Italy’ quality products to this emerging market.” Italy considers Vietnam to be one of the top ten emerging markets in Asia and will focus on further developing trade and investment in the country.
