Doing Business in China for U.S. Companies

Dezan Shira & Associates’ manager of global business development for the Beijing office, Chet Scheltema, will be in the United States to speak on doing business in China. Working with clients primarily from the U.S. and Europe, he advises on corporate structuring, China FDI regulations, China tax compliance, and general business legal matters. Clients include closely-held companies and publicly traded corporations in the entertainment, medical device, logistics, and agricultural industries.

Chet is a licensed U.S. attorney with current and prior bar memberships in California, DC, and Washington, where he practiced corporate law for more than six years and managed domestic and international legal transactions.

Prior to joining Dezan Shira & Associates, Chet was Director of Property and Real Estate for China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) in Beijing.

Chet is a native of San Diego and holds a law degree (JD) from the University of Illinois, an MBA from Cambridge University, and a BA from San Diego State University.
