Over the last decade, along with Vietnam’s rapid economic and population growth, its healthcare sector has expanded significantly and become one of the most promising areas for foreign investment.

In the healthcare sector, the medical devices industry is one of the most attractive subsectors since over 90 percent of medical equipment in Vietnam is imported from foreign companies, of which 55 percent are from Japan, Germany, the US, China, and Singapore. In addition, the value of imported medical devices into Vietnam has grown significantly over the last five years, reaching US$543.5 million in 2019 and demonstrating a substantial growth of 51 percent compared to 2014.
