How to Deal with Foreign Employee Affairs Under the China Travel Restrictions 旅行禁令下如何处理外籍员工的相关事宜(CN中文)

On September 2, Fuki Fu, Assistant Manager on Dezan Shira & Associates HR & Payroll team, will discuss China’s travel restrictions, the impacts it has on foreign employee labor relations, work permits, and tax status changes, and how companies can help their foreign employees enter the country again during this period through special visa applications. 

In light of the rapid spread of Covid-19 across the world, in March 2020 China decided to temporarily suspend entry into the country to foreign nationals holding visas or residence permits.  Although recent announcements have shown that China is gradually opening up and easing restrictions, many foreigners still find themselves stuck outside with little indication to when they will be allowed to return. The travel restrictions have not only affected individuals waiting for re-entry, but has also had a large impact on the companies that employ them.

鉴于Covid-19在世界各地的迅速蔓延，2020年3月，中国决定暂停持有签证或居留证的外国人入境。尽管近期一系列的公告显示，中国正在逐步放宽限制、恢复开放，但许多希望入境的外国人仍然被困于境外，几乎没有迹象表明何时能够返回。中国颁布的旅行限制不仅影响了等待重新入境的外国人，对雇用他们的公司也带来了很大的影响。
