Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are contributors to employment, drivers of innovation, and creators of economic growth. Throughout China, there are an estimated 8,000 UK SMEs and entrepreneurs, while there are tens of millions of Chinese SMEs.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Initiative has brought new opportunities for businesses in this city cluster. By 2030, the region is expected to be leading the advanced manufacturing, innovation, trade, and finance sectors. 

At the same time, for the majority of small and medium-sized companies in this area, there are still many challenges to tackle while leveraging opportunities, such as limited talent resources, lack of level-playing field with larger counterparts, regulatory hurdles etc. How to survive in this attractive yet complicating market is an inevitable question for SMEs to consider.
