Norwegian Business Association: China’s Social Insurance Law and its Implications for Foreigners

In this presentation, we will discuss the changes leading up to the current status of China’s Social Insurance Law and how they will affect foreigners working and conducting business in China. The presentation will start by outlining the five insurances that make up the law and the implications of each for expatriate employees and their employers. Following that, we will cover how to calculate your contributions based on the current caps and give an example of calculations where the cap has been removed, and finally, how to set up a social welfare account with the authorities.
