Webinar | Wednesday, August 28, 2024 | 2:30 PM India Time / 4:00 PM Vietnam Time / 5:00 PM China Time
Watch on demandIn recent years, India's consistent economic growth and business-friendly policies have not only made it a prime destination for inbound investments but have also positioned Indian corporations as significant global investors. Indian enterprises are increasingly seeking opportunities beyond domestic markets to access new regions, acquire advanced technologies, and diversify their investment portfolios. Reserve Bank of India (RBI), states that India's outward foreign investment amounted to $USD 22.88 billion in 2022-23. Noteworthy, ODI activities are evident in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, IT and software services, energy, etc.
Despite recent amendments to the ODI (Overseas Direct Investment) policy under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), navigating the ODI landscape remains complex. Overseas investments by Indian multinational corporations require strategic planning and a deep understanding of the regulatory and tax landscapes of target countries. Awareness of local business customs, trade policies, legal frameworks, and labor laws is essential to fully anticipate the costs and implications of expanding overseas.

During this session, Neeraj was also joined by our guest speaker Ashok Sarda, AVP of Intermediaries Strategy – North, DBS Bank.
