How can foreign companies sell products directly via a self-owned Chinese website inside of China?

Q&A

Selling directly via a self-owned Chinese website requires a local company registration and Internet Content Provider (ICP) filing, which can be taxing. To set up an online shop, the foreign company should follow the following steps: First, set up a Foreign Invested Commercial Enterprise (FICE) in China for a physical store and establish a physical retail shop. Then register your website to set up your online shop. It should be noted that you should sell the same range of products online as in your physical store.
