How does the sales representatives in sports apparel sub-sector compared to representatives in fashion apparel sub-sector?

At the sales representative level, the sports apparel sub-sector resembles fashion apparel in terms of average age (25.9 years for the former, 26 years for the latter) and average years of work experience (3.2 years). At this level of seniority, similarities between these sub-sectors are understandable, because there is little difference in product and service requirements. Sales representatives are slightly more stable in sports apparel compared to fashion apparel (19.9 months versus 18.9 months). In contrast with fashion apparel, men constitute the majority of sales representatives in sports apparel (56.5 percent). However, women continue to present higher stability – 20.7 months versus 19.4 months for men. The similarities with fashion apparel do not extend to mid-management level roles. When it comes to sales managers, sport apparel employs the most experiences ones across sub-sectors (7.8 years on average) and above-industry stability (38.7 versus 37.5 months).
