What are the advantages and disadvantages of special economic zones in China?

Special Economic Zones are the oldest of all, thus they have advanced infrastructures, flexible legislations and great locations. Within these zones, more specialized zones are now set up to incentivize further investments. However, preferential tax policies and the famous 15%-corporate-income-tax have been down away by the introduction of the 2008 Corporate Income Tax Reform.
