What are some challenges that the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) members can face?

Q&A

1) Government Procurement: Government procurements need to be very transparent, predictable, and non-discriminatory to allow member state companies to be aware of opening up bids and contracts.

2) Labor Regulations: Emerging Asian countries need to be able to improve labor unions or collective bargaining associations tbetter productivity and working conditions, such as relaxing of labor regulations in China.

3) Copyrights and Patents: TPP may grant extensions to copyrights and patents and it includes patents on medicines as well. This will prevent the making of generic medicines, which will lead to a price burden for consumers for patented medicines.
