There are Special Economic Zones in India that foreign investors can take advantage of. There are, principally, 4 kinds of Special Economic Zones:

  • Special Economic Zones for Multiple Sectors;
  • Special Economic Zones for Specific Sectors;
  • Special Economic Zones for Free Trade and Warehousing; and
  • Special Economic Zones for IT/ITES/Handicraft and Other Industries

Indian Special Economic Zones are located along its coastline, for example:

  • Gurajat in the Northwest,
  • Mumbai in the West,
  • Dehli in the North,
  • Kolkata neighboring the Bay of Bengal,
  • Chennai in the East and
  • Visakhapatnam in the South.
