Which sub-sector in the retail industry employs the oldest professionals in China?

Professionals from the retail specialist sub-sector are the oldest (28.7 years) and most stable (28.8 months on average per employer), having worked for a comparatively lower number of employers (2.19) at a sales representative level (33.2 percent of retail specialist professionals), they are less experienced than on average. However, to get to a branch manager position (9 percent of the retail specialist professionals) takes around 7.7 years of working experience, the highest for branch managers in the retail industry. This is understandable considering the sizes of the establishments usually operated in this sub-sector and the number of co-workers under their supervision. Sales managers (18.8 percent) are also quite experienced (6.9 years, equal to luxury goods) but behind those in sports apparel (7.8 years). If the luxury goods sub-sector is female-oriented, the retail specialist workforce remains male-oriented, especially when it comes to managerial positions: 62.4 percent of branch managers, and 68 percent of sales managers.
