Multimedia

Presenter(s):

Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest economy and an emerging global powerhouse, is projected to grow by 5.2% in 2024. With ambitious development plans, the country is actively seeking increased foreign investment, presenting a prime opportunity for Australian businesses.

Australia, with its close proximity and strong economic ties to Indonesia, is uniquely positioned to capitalize on these emerging opportunities. Australian goods, expertise, and strategic interests align seamlessly with Indonesia’s development goals and the needs of its rapidly growing population.

In the first half of 2024 alone, Indonesia attracted US$50.95 billion in investments, reflecting an impressive 22.3% year-on-year increase. Australian investments in Indonesia grew by 4% in 2023, reaching US$545.2 million. This bilateral partnership is further strengthened by the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA), which enhances market access and prospects for Australian companies looking to enter or expand in the Indonesian market.
