BIO

Juan Manuel joined Dezan Shira & Associates in February 2018 as a member of the International Business Advisory team at Dezan Shira & Associates’ Guangzhou Office, working on projects in South China and Hong Kong. His main responsibilities involve client advisory services, business development and partner maintenance. He also supports Dezan Shira & Associates’ Spanish Desk by handling Spanish speaking clients from Spain and Latin America. Juan’s expertise includes corporate establishment and investment strategy in China.

Juan holds a Master's Degree in International Law from the Beijing Institute of Technology in China and a Bachelor's in International Relations from the University of Colima in Mexico.

Prior to joining Dezan Shira & Associates, Juan worked in business development and institutional marketing at Mexico’s ProMexico Office of Representation Abroad in Beijing, as well as for private Mexican businesses and organizations wishing to develop their relationships in China. Juan has direct experience in researching China’s normative and administrative procedures on trade and investment and in helping interested investors navigate China's market environment. He has also worked as a civil servant for the Federal Government of Mexico, in business development for the private industry, and lectured at the university level for his alma mater.
