Dezan Shira & Associates India Country Manager Holds Session on India’s HR and Payroll Landscape with Indo-French Chamber
On October 6, 2016, Rohit Kapur conducted a session at the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) in New Delhi where he educated the participants on common practices and compliance related to Human Resource and Payroll in India. The session, titled “Human Resource and Payroll Landscape”, explored the ground realities that companies face when setting up their practices in India.
Rohit covered a broad array of topics, including recruitment, employment terms, laws, visa regime, social security obligations, and taxation.
Rohit engaged with participants from both French and Indian companies belonging to different sectors such as legal, advertising, IT, and aviation. The participants raised many questions ranging from the day-to-day challenges faced while dealing with government or state authorities to functioning in a pragmatic manner within the framework of the law. Rohit shared his insightful experiences of tactfully dealing with employees across all levels and maintaining a balance between the expectations of the management and the employees. The session panned out to be highly interactive and helped the participants seek detailed clarifications.
