Dezan Shira Holds Session with German Chamber on Practical Solutions to Financial Challenges in Post-M&A Integration

On November 9, 2016, Chet Scheltema, the regional director of Dezan Shira & Associates, was invited by German Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai to give a speech on practical solutions to financial challenges in post M&A integration of privately-held Chinese Companies.

In the presentation, Chet pointed out the most common financial challenges and risks companies may face during post-M&A integration by sharing real cases from work. These cases helped the audience better understand the importance of due diligence in the M&A process and what kind of fraud risks foreign investors may come across in post M&A integration of privately-held Chinese companies.

After analyzing risks and challenges, practical financial suggestions were given on the topics of financial reporting, related party transactions and mis-valued assets as well as unrecorded liabilities. Tips on finance team HR management & internal controls were also given from foreign investors’ view.
