Ines Liu Discusses Managing a Global Workforce at German Chamber in Beijing
On June 14, Senior Associate on Dezan Shira & Associates’ International Business Advisory team, Ines Liu, discussed the rules and regulations behind employing and managing a global workforce in China at a seminar hosted by the German Chamber of Commerce in Beijing.
Overcoming HR and Legal Concerns
For foreign investors entering the Chinese market, or even fully-established enterprises, a major challenge can be HR and legal concerns.
During her presentation, Ines Liu helped both employers and employees alike to understand how to stay in compliance with China’s HR and labor laws. Ines introduced China’s social security system and gave tips on how to better structure staff handbooks and employment contracts to avoid labor disputes. What constitutes lawful and unlawful termination was also discussed.
Further, Ines stressed the importance of having a good grasp of China’s tax system to better understand which taxes you will be subjected to with the hope of decreasing your tax burden.
