Shanghai Office hosts HR Audit and Risk Avoidance Seminar
On 23rd October 2019, Dezan Shira & Associates‘ Shanghai office, in collaboration with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, hosted a seminar discussing how to avoid legal risk in human resources.
Ellen Yin, our Human Resources Assistant Manager and Allan Xu, our Business Advisory Services Manager co-presented this seminar titled HR Audit and Risk Avoidance in the Hiring Process.
How Does an HR Audit Work?
Ellen started the presentation by defining the HR audit, it purposes, who should be the executor and the required frequency of the audit. She then went on to outline the five-phase audit process.
She emphasized that the HR audit can alert a company to any hidden problems and compliance issues against the backdrop of China’s ever-evolving regulations for adjusting and establishing better HR practices.
Potential Risks in Recruitment
Allan Xu continued the presentation and discussed the ten modules that should be reviewed during a HR audit. She also illustrated the kind of risks companies may have to face while dealing with employment criteria, offer letter, right-to-know and contract signing, etc.
She put forward several typical issues related to labor contract management and amendments.
With the detailed instructions by our HR experts of what should be re-evaluated, HR managers can conduct audits and therefore detect hidden risks in their companies’ employment systems.
