Marco Förster Elected as Chair of the SME Forum at the European Chamber in China

We are proud to announce that Marco Förster, Shenzhen-based Senior Associate of the International Business Advisory team, has been elected as this year’s Chair for the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME) Forum at the European Union Chamber of Commerce in South China (EUCCC). Traditionally, the chair position of the chamber’s SME forum has been held by Dezan Shira & Associates, most recently by Valeria Manunza, before her relocation to our Milan office in 2019.

Marco has been announced as chair while moderating the SME Working Group (WG) meeting “Back to the Future – The Impacts of the Corporate Social Credit System on SMEs and its Implications in the Times of COVID-19” on 24 March 2020. This WG meeting was jointly organized by the EU SME Centre and the EUCCC and addressed pressing questions on how and what to do to overcome the impacts of COVID-19 for SMEs from a corporate social credit systems perspective. Amongst the speakers were Ms. Cara Meng, Senior Associate at Taylor Wessing and Ms. Kendra Schaefer, Partner at Trivium China.

European Chamber’s SME Working Group

Marco is responsible for the Chamber’s SME Working Group, which is comprised of European SMEs operating in a wide range of industries in China. The WG aims to act as a forum for exchange on practical business issues to help corporations succeed in China.
