Dezan Shira & Associates Contributes to B20 Inclusive Global Value Chains Communiqué

Dezan Shira & Associates is pleased to announce its contribution to the B20 Inclusive Global Value Chains (GVCs) Communiqué, which was put before the public at Taj Palace, New Delhi, on  August 27, and will be handed over to the G20 leaders on September 9. The communiqué is a significant document that could have a real impact on the global economy.

Marco Förster, Head of ASEAN Advisory at Dezan Shira & Associates, has been a member of the B20 Task Force for Inclusive GVCs for Resilient Global Trade and Investment since January 2023.

Over the past 8 months, he and the other task force members have convened over multiple occasions to compile a policy paper that outlines four key recommendations for building shock resistant and sustainable GVCs:

• Diversifying supply chains
• Enhancing digital connectivity
• Adopting sustainable practices
• Leveraging emerging technologies

The B20 communiqué emphasizes the importance of ensuring that trade and investment benefit all segments of society, including least developed countries (LDCs), micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), women, and youth.
