Giovanni Lovisetti attends the China-Italy Design Innovation Hub in Milan
MILAN – On Saturday, January 22, Giovanni Lovisetti attended the event China-Italy Design Innovation Hub of Tsinghua University 2024 Milan Academic Week.
The China-Italy Design Innovation Hub was launched for the first time on April 17, 2018. The agreement for its establishment had been signed a year prior by the former President of Tsinghua University, Qiu Yong, and former President of Politecnico di Milano, Ferrucio Resta, during a high-level visit to Beijing.
In honor of the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo’s passing, a pioneer in nurturing cultural bonds between China and Italy, this year’s edition of the event was titled “Dialogue for Innovation Between Civilizations”, and from January 20th to 25th, it featured discussions on diverse subjects, including arts and design in the age of artificial intelligence, EU-China relations, economic collaboration, and sustainable innovation.
Giovanni, himself an alumnus of Tsinghua University and the current Vice President of the Tsinghua University Alumni Association Italy, actively contributed to the formation of Tsinghua University Milan Center ETS in Milan in 2021, demonstrating his support for the university.
On this year’s edition of the University’s 2024 Milan Academic Week, Giovanni stated favorably: “This event was a further proof of how Tsinghua University, one of the top universities in China, is willing to enhance its presence in Italy and its cooperation with Italian institutions”.
During the event, Giovanni also had the opportunity to meet with Professor Li Luming, who was recently appointed as the President of Tsinghua University and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee.
