Dezan Shira & Associates Delves into Investment Opportunities in Indonesia’s New Capital City with Swiss Business Hub
On March 19th, 2024, Jennifer Halim, International Business Advisory Manager at Dezan Shira & Associates Indonesia was a speaker for a webinar hosted by Swiss Business Hub addressing recent developments of Indonesia’s new capital city, Nusantara. The webinar drew a diverse audience of Swiss enterprises eyeing expansion into Nusantara.
Opened with remarks from both the Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia, HE Olivier Zehnder, and the Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland, HE Ngurah Swajaya , the webinar centred its discussion on the current development status of the new city as well as investment prospects available there.
Speaking alongside Mr. Agung Wicaksono, Deputy Head of Ibu Kota Negara Authority, Jennifer discussed the array of incentives tailored for international investors seeking to enter Nusantara .
Currently scheduled to be inaugurated in August this year, the Indonesian government has rolled out a suite of incentives to entice investments in Nusantara. These incentives encompass income tax holidays, import tax exemptions, and extended permissions to hire foreign workers for up to ten years.
“The Indonesian government welcomes foreign investment in the Nusantara, offering incentives such as exemptions on foreign ownership limitations in select sectors. With a range of fiscal and non-fiscal facilities at their disposal, it is an exciting time to invest in Nusantara for foreign investors”, Jennifer said.
