Andrea Volpe Attends the Italy-China Entrepreneurial Dialogue Forum
VERONA – Our Senior Consultant at the Italian Desk, Andrea Volpe, attended the Italy-China Entrepreneurial Dialogue Forum held in Verona on April 12, 2024. This high-level institutional event, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (Agenzia ICE) and Confindustria, aimed to enhance bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.
The forum was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani and Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao, and featured discussions on important growth sectors for both countries. Key sessions covered business trends and prospects in the e-commerce, pharmaceutical, biomedical, and agro-food industries.
Tajani emphasized the strength of the 20-year bilateral relationship between Italy and China. Participation at annual forums and biannual meetings have provided valuable opportunities for SMEs on both sides to bolster business ties and share data while also advancing mutual cooperation at the level of international relations.
Andrea shared his insights on how the developments at the Forum could influence future strategic initiatives between the countries: “Listening to the speeches, we can see the continuous attention of Chinese companies towards the Italian market, with a request to our Government to reduce the bureaucratic aspects that limit investments in our country. For their part, Italian companies, in order to increase their investments in China, are demanding greater market opening. The two Governments will have to work together on these aspects in the coming years”.
