Dezan Shira & Associates Uncovers Strategic Supply Chain Diversification Opportunities in China’s Greater Bay Area (GBA), Southeast Asia, and South Asia

Shenzhen – April 23, 2024: Alberto Vettoretti, Managing Partner of Dezan Shira & Associates, and Marco Förster, Director of ASEAN, convened a hybrid workshop at our Shenzhen office aimed at our clients in South China and individuals keen on exploring the opportunities within the GBA-ASEAN Corridor and its unique supply chain dynamics. Klaus Zenkel, Vice President of the European Chamber and Chairman of the European Chamber South China Board, delivered the opening remarks.

Against the backdrop of Asia, including China, hosting approximately one-third of the world’s manufacturing hubs, the workshop delved into the shifting dynamics of investment. While foreign direct investment (FDI) and local enterprises contemplate relocating to Southeast or South Asia destinations, the Greater Bay Area (GBA) in China remains distinguished for its prowess in R&D innovation and integration.

Drawing upon recent economic data and insights derived from our clients’ extensive consulting engagements, the workshop shared key factors driving companies to consider relocation or expansion, alongside the predominant concerns and challenges in strategic decision-making. An ultimate question emerged: “How does one select the optimal market for relocation?” In response, we are pleased to unveil the Emerging Asia Manufacturing Index 2024, a comprehensive tool evaluating Asia’s eight most dynamic emerging countries across eight key tiers, empowering businesses to make well-informed decisions.

The workshop showcased Dezan Shira & Associates’ commitment to furnishing strategic intelligence that facilitates decision-making for international investments in Asia.
