Giovanni Lovisetti and Andrea Volpe Host Webinar on Vietnam and ASEAN Countries for Confindustria Emilia

On Monday, May 21, Giovanni Lovisetti and Andrea Volpe from our Milan and Udine Liaison Offices were invited by Confindustria Emilia to host a webinar titled “Vietnam: porta d’accesso strategica nell’area ASEAN” (Vietnam: Strategic gateway to the ASEAN region).

Confindustria Emilia Area Centro is the association of companies formed from the integration of Unindustria Bologna, Unindustria Ferrara, and Confindustria Modena. This single association aims to provide greater representation to an area poised to become Italy’s leading manufacturing center.

For this event, Dezan Shira & Associates was appointed to present an overview of the ASEAN markets to an esteemed audience of businesses from various industries.

Andrea provided an introduction of the Vietnamese economic landscape and its opportunities for Italian businesses, alongside an overview of taxation, accounting, and HR practices in the ASEAN countries.

Giovanni gave a comprehensive presentation on Vietnam’s legal framework, key commercial contracts, and the guidelines for establishing and managing a company, highlighting the significance of Free Trade Zones and major Free Trade Agreements.

During the Q&A session, Andrea addressed questions about the lack of incentives for FDI in the ASEAN countries, stating, “A company looking to invest abroad is always required to contribute its own capital and resources. However, FDI is welcome and supported by tax incentives and various benefits offered by the host country.”
