Board of Directors of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam Explores Vietnam’s Economic Landscape with Ambassador
Ho Chi Minh City – On May 28, 2024, Patricia Aranguren Moliner, a member of Dezan Shira & Associates’ International Business Advisory Team, and currently serving as Treasurer on the elected Board of Directors of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam for the 2024-2026 term, participated in a special meeting with Spanish Ambassador Carmen Cano de Lasala at the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Vietnam (Oficina Económica y Comercial de España en Vietnam).
They discussed the business landscape in Vietnam, highlighting both the advantages and hurdles encountered by Spanish enterprises when doing business in Vietnam. This year holds special significance as it commemorates the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership towards the future between Spain and Vietnam (2009-2024).
Patricia commented: “Meeting the Ambassador of Spain in Vietnam was an enriching experience that underscored the importance of cultural and economic collaboration between Spain and Vietnam. During our discussions, we explored several ways in which the embassy can support the chamber’s activities, reflecting a shared enthusiasm for deepened cooperation and sustained development. I am inspired by our shared commitment to fostering strong bilateral relationships and exploring new avenues for mutual growth and prosperity.”
Collaboration between the two nations is on the rise, exemplified by Spain’s establishment of the Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam in 2023. Additionally, the ambassador has publicly stated that Spanish businesses are increasingly inclined to collaborate with Vietnam, identifying four pivotal sectors for future cooperation: infrastructure, renewable energy, defense, and tourism.
