Marco Förster Engages Senior Chinese Executives with ASEAN Lecture for EHL x CEIBS EMBA Program

On June 4, 2024, Marco Förster, Director, ASEAN, at Dezan Shira & Associates, delivered a lecture to over 40 senior business executives from leading enterprises in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu. The event was part of the Hospitality Executive MBA (HEMBA) program, a collaborative initiative between China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), hosted in the EHL Campus in Singapore.

The HEMBA program, renowned for its focus on service business management, aims to equip senior managers with the knowledge and leadership skills necessary to excel in Asia’s burgeoning service sector. The program offers a unique blend of CEIBS’ business acumen and EHL’s hospitality management expertise, making it an invaluable resource for executives seeking to advance their careers. 

 Mr. Förster’s lecture provided a comprehensive overview of the ASEAN region, emphasizing the region’s strategic importance and investment opportunities. Further, Mr Förster shared key insights from the Emerging Asia Manufacturing Index 2024, produced by Dezan Shira, which highlighted China’s leading position in several metrics such as infrastructure, innovation, trade networks, and skilled workforces.

The event underscored the growing interest of Chinese companies in Southeast Asia as a prime destination for investment and expansion. Mr. Förster’s expertise and the interactive nature of the lecture contributed to a productive and highly engaging session, leaving the participants with a deeper understanding of the ASEAN market and its potential.

Additionally, the event was built on the foundation laid earlier this year by David Stepat, Country Manager at Dezan Shira & Associates, who presented similar insights to a previous HEMBA cohort.
