Andrea Volpe Joins Association of International CPAs of Italy for Webinar on Vietnam and ASEAN Countries
On June 12th, Andrea Volpe, Senior Consultant at the Italian Desk, took part in the “Vietnam and ASEAN Countries” webinar organized by the Association of International CPAs of Italy (AICEC).
The event began by revisiting the business mission to Vietnam and Singapore conducted by the Association two years ago, which included an 80-strong delegation of CPAs.
Organized in collaboration with various institutional entities, including the Italian Embassy in Vietnam, the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, and the Italian Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), the webinar highlighted Vietnam’s strategic role as a gateway to the ASEAN region.
During the initial phase of the event, institutional greetings and introductions were delivered by Marco della Seta, the Italian Ambassador to Hanoi; Enrico Padula, the Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City; and Giovanni Gerardo Parente, President of AICEC.
Andrea’s presentation, titled “From Contract Signing to Corporate Management, Covering Taxation and HR: The Advantages of 2nd Generation Free Trade Agreements,” focused on the fiscal and operational benefits of establishing a presence in Vietnam, including preferential tax incentives and the current free trade agreement between Vietnam and the EU.
Besides Andrea’s presentation, the Vice President of ICHAM, Federico Vasoli, delivered a speech on the evolving economic context and new commercial prospects, while Professor and Director of the ICRIM Centre at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart presented a course designed to help understand and successfully tackle the “Vietnam challenge.”
During the visit organized by AICEC two years ago, Dezan Shira & Associates, along with Intesa Sanpaolo, contributed to a publication by AICEC, CNDCEC, and the National Foundation of Accountants about doing business in Vietnam, Singapore, and Italy.
