Managing Partner Alberto Vettoretti Speaks at Indonesia-Southern China Business Forum 2024

Guangzhou, August 29, 2024 – Alberto Vettoretti, Managing Partner at Dezan Shira & Associates, participated in a panel discussion at the Indonesia-Southern China Business Forum 2024. This prestigious event was organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Guangzhou, the Indonesia Investment Promotion Center in Beijing, and Bank Indonesia. The forum, themed “Doing Business in Indonesia: Building Strong Connections for Sustainable Growth,” brought together prominent speakers, including the Ambassador of Indonesia to China, senior government officials, and business leaders, to discuss the current state and prospects of Indonesia’s economy. 

During the panel, Alberto emphasized why Indonesia stands out among its ASEAN peers, and pointed out several attractive sectors for Chinese investors, stressing that Indonesia’s growing market offers extensive opportunities across various industries. “Indonesia has many factors that support foreign investment, including market size, demographics dominated by productive age, availability of labor, and the stable, visionary, forward-looking government,” noted Alberto. 

He highlighted the country’s vast potential driven by its demographic dividend. “Indonesia has 283 million people, and it has yet to fully harness the power of its demographic dividend. This means lots of young, hungry, available people. This presents a significant opportunity—whether as a large consumer market for businesses or a skilled workforce for manufacturers. Planning with these factors in mind is crucial for any investor considering Indonesia,” Alberto stated. 

This forum offered valuable insights into Indonesia’s investment landscape and reinforced the strong ties between Indonesia and Southern China.
