Dezan Shira & Associates Briefs Swiss Ambassador to ASEAN on Vietnam-Indonesia Manufacturing Policies
On November 21, 2024, Marco Förster, ASEAN Director at Dezan Shira & Associates, was invited to provide a briefing to H.E. Olivier Zehnder, Swiss Ambassador to ASEAN, Indonesia, and Timor-Leste, at the Ambassador’s residence in Jakarta. The event brought together representatives from government and business for a dynamic discussion on Indonesia’s manufacturing policy and its implications for the region.
Dezan Shira & Associates was honored to contribute insights into Indonesia’s strategic positioning within the regional supply chain landscape, particularly in comparison with Vietnam. The discussion highlighted Indonesia’s potential as a key manufacturing hub in the region, while also addressing its challenges in capturing a greater share of foreign investment.
One critical topic during the discussion was the underutilization of the EFTA-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The discussion group emphasized the significant opportunities the CEPA provides for Swiss and Indonesian stakeholders and the need for greater awareness and adoption to unlock its full potential.
Dezan Shira & Associates would like to thank the Swiss Business Hub ASEAN/Indonesia for organizing this insightful event and fostering meaningful dialogue between stakeholders.
