Dezan Shira & Associates meets with the Consul General of Finland in Shanghai, Business Finland’s Commercial Counsellor for China, and FinnCham Shanghai’s Executive Director

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, Dezan Shira & Associates welcomed Anu Vuori, Consul General of Finland in Shanghai; Marko Tiesmäki, Commercial Counsellor and Region Director of Business Finland China; and Kari Hakala, Executive Director of FinnCham Shanghai, to its Shanghai office. Representing Dezan Shira & Associates were Jenny Liao, Partner of Corporate Accounting Services; Gary Shaben, Head of Group Marketing; and Viktor Rojkov, International Business Advisory Manager. The meeting focused on strengthening business ties between Finland and China and while exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

During the discussion, Consul General Anu Vuori emphasized Finland and China’s longstanding trade relationship and noted two significant milestones being celebrated this year—the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and 30^th anniversary of the Finnish Consulate General’s presence in China. She reaffirmed her commitment to deepening economic ties between the two nations.

Marko Tiesmäki provided valuable insights into key sectors driving Finnish business growth in China, evolving market trends, and the increasing flow of Chinese investment into Finland. He underscored the growing interest from businesses on both sides and the importance of enhanced investor outreach and regulatory insights.
